This update introduced massive changes to how players will approach the game. The first major change is that Hex: Ruin has been changed from being the most used perk for Killers. Instead of making it so that generators have a skill check where the survivor has to get a great skill check to advance the generators completion, it is now set to make it so that the generators(when not being worked on) regress and lose their progress. This is massive in terms of how people play this game competitively. For killers this update gets rid of one of the main perks for them to play and for survivors it gets rid of one of the most annoying perks to play against. This changes a lot of how the game is played now.

The other massive part of this update are the changes to the Doctor killer. He now has a new ability that is called static blast that will shoot out a static blast in the area of his terror radius. If hit by this, the survivors will scream in madness and reveal their location to the doctor. This makes it easier to locate survivors but harder to chase them right away as his movement speed is drastically slowed. He can also now also use his shock therapy ability without having to switch stances, making it easier for him to continue to chase the survivor.

These updates and changes to the gameplay have polarized the games players. All killers are angry that Hex: Ruin has been nerfed because of how much they used it and survivors, especially new ones, are happy because it doesn’t slow down the game as much as it did before. I believe that the Ruin nerf was good in terms of letting people play. From a survivors aspect this Ruin change is great because it is kind of a way to not delay the game. However, from a killers aspect the ruin change sucks. It flat out sucks because Ruin was one of the best perks to slow down a game and give you more time to hunt and kill the survivors, so the fact it isn’t working like that anymore sucks.

My thoughts on the Doctor buff is that Dead by Daylight did what it does best, over buff a killer. Doctor is now way too op and way to easy to use as killer. As a survivor it is almost impossible to get away from him using a pallet, because he can stun you way faster now and hit you sooner after they use shock therapy. I am going to rate this update 6/10 because the update adds a nice change to how people play the game, but they made another over powered again. It is tough to see a game that has already been losing its community still making early game development mistakes. This seems like a reoccurring thing with the developers of the game.
